About Us

Virtue Recovery is a warm and welcoming residential eating disorder treatment center with facilities in Sun City West, Arizona, and Las Vegas, Nevada. At each luxurious location, we provide holistic modalities to help adults from across the country recover from eating disorders like anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID).

Our nutritional philosophy of “all foods fit” is the foundation of our dietary program that helps patients repair their relationship with food and their bodies. Our program helps guide patients of all shapes and sizes through an individualized weight-inclusive approach. Our nutritional rehabilitation program aims to help our clients:

  • Stabilize eating patterns
  • Understand body signals that have been silenced
  • Honor the body’s wants and needs
  • Follow a meal plan outside of a residential structure
  • Decrease food-related distress through exposure exercises
  • Acquire knowledge to understand recovery and dispute cognitive distortions

Eating Disorders We Treat

Anorexia

Anorexia nervosa is a dangerous eating disorder in which individuals restrict their food intake and often experience a distorted body image and fear of weight gain, leading to potentially severe impacts on their health and quality of life.

Bulimia

Individuals with bulimia nervosa undergo a cycle of binge eating followed by vomiting or other compensatory behaviors such as misuse of diuretics, over-exercising or fasting in an attempt to prevent weight gain.

Binge eating

As the most prevalent eating disorder in the U.S.  binge eating disorder is characterized by recurring episodes of compulsive overeating – consuming large quantities of food in one sitting, leading to feelings of shame, discomfort, and loss of control.

Our Recovery Process

Holistic Therapy

Eating disorders are mental health disorders, making psychotherapy an effective and essential part of treatment and the recovery process.

At Virtue Recovery, we use various therapeutic modalities including nutritional therapy alongside medical monitoring to heal body, mind, and spirit.

Education and Implementation

We educate every client about nutrition, meal planning, exercise, and therapeutic techniques.

The plans we then develop and implement, together with our clients and medical monitoring, are completely customized to their needs, goals, and personalities.

Empowerment

Recovery is an ongoing journey. The growth that occurs is in transferring power and control to yourself instead of the disease.

Every client leaves our treatment center empowered with tools, knowledge, and a support system so they can continue to grow in the direction they want.

Frequently Asked Questions

Eating disorders are serious mental health illnesses that involve a person’s impaired and unhealthy relationship with food to an extent that negatively impacts their daily life. While an individual may limit their food intake, overeat, binge or purge, however, eating disorders are not simply about the food but rather a compensatory behavior in an attempt to gain control over issues such as unhealthy thoughts and unresolved trauma.

An estimated 30 million people (10 million men and 20 million women) in the United States are expected to have an eating disorder during their lifetime. Eating disorders can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status. Our eating disorder program focuses on healing the mind-body disconnection through compassion, education, shame reduction, and understanding. Exploring the root causes such as family dynamics, societal influences, traumatic experiences and genetic predispositions.

Signs and symptoms can continue to develop and worsen as a person ages. Barriers to seeking support, feelings of shame and fears of stereotypes can keep someone from seeking and receiving help. We provide eating disorder treatment exclusively for adults, many of whom may have struggled with eating disorder symptoms for years.

All eating disorders may present differently in any one individual than another, but all affect their ability to function. However, some common signs of an eating disorder include regularly experiencing feelings of shame and guilt around eating, obsessive thoughts related to your weight and appearance, feeling the need to hide your eating habits from others and suffering from physical symptoms such as dehydration, dizziness and cramps. If you’re experiencing any of these common signs, reach out to us with any questions by giving us a call at 623-304-8144.

We treat all types of eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID) and rumination disorder. Some other specified feeding or eating disorders we treat include purging disorder and night eating syndrome.
